Isle of Lewis Buildings and Structures Print Collection

Inspired by the eclectic architecture and built environment of the Outer Hebrides. The influences of different cultures dating back thousands of years have left their mark throughout the Isle of Lewis. Artworks and images include Lews Castle, the historic Callanish (Calanais) Stones, the Butt of Lewis Lighthouse, Stornoway Town Hall to our modern day arts centre An Lanntair – Gaelic for The Lantern.

Ollochs* (Stones) Print Collection – coming soon

*There is some debate about the spelling of the word olloch, a term used to described the beautifully smooth, rounded stones found commonly on the beaches across the islands. An olloch is bigger than a pebble, it has substance and is notable for the time it has spent being smoothed by the tides.

These mixed media works capture the gentle shapes and textures of the layered stones in their natural environment.
